UFC 83 has been moved from Manchester, England to a to-be-determined location and venue in the United States according to report from Steve Seivert of The Houston Chronicle.
Scheduled for March 8th, exactly one week after UFC 82, UFC 83 will include Michael Bisping’s 185-pound debut against Charles McCarthy as well as Houston Alexander versus James Irvin. The UFC has recently signed a number of European fighters to appear on the UFC 83 card but is not known what impact, if any, the venue change will have on their rumored fights.

Gutted, Im from Manchester and would have liked to have gone to this venue. But upto now the card doesnt seem anything too promising so it might turn out better to watch it on the box
No worries, they’re expected to be back before the end of the year.
glad u just said that kris cause i was just guna rip into the ufc im from leeds but was planning on going to that event, guess i’ll have to wait longer, hope they get liddell on the card would love to see him over here he’s one of my heros.
At least you guys across the pond still have Cage Rage right?
I heard they had to scrap the event because they couldn’t find a venue in Manchester that was large enough to hold Bisping’s ego! zing!
Seriously though, I thought the timing of UFC 83 was odd to begin with. UFC 80 to UFC 84 were going to be covering only a 3 month period (Jan 19 to April 19). If they make the April event UFC 83 then maybe 84 or 85 will be back in England and by then there might be a LW or HW title match.
what about HAWAIIIIII!!!!!!!
I bet it relocates to Chicago. They have been trying to get one there. Is it now sanctioned in Illinois Kris? Do you know?
Fixxer, it appears that MMA is now sanctioned in Illinois.

Thank you Eric!
Man… IL??? Great news for the sport!
After all the two-bit “MMA” promo’s in DC, it’s nice to see VA finally host some events! (Smash MMA @ the Patriot Center in Nov and Operation Octagon @ the PWCFG in Jan).
WOOT!
[...] a middleweight bout at UFC 83, which is still scheduled for March 8th though a venue is obviously not yet determined. Undefeated since debuting in 2005, brazilian jiu jitsu black belt Demian Maia, returns to the [...]
It wont be in the US. April 19th in Montreal Canada. I guarantee it.
Phil – Unless UFC 83 is canceled the event you’re talking about is going to be UFC 84.
I’m pretty sure I saw an announcement at the very end of UFC 80 (It ran along the bottom of the screen) that announced it WAS going to be in Montreal. I’ve read many rumors on the event as well. Shouldn’t guarantee things you’re not so sure about.
