UFC 84: Mac Danzig vs. Mark Bocek
Canadian jiu jitsu ace Mark Bocek will do battle with The Ultimate Fighter 6 winner Mac Danzig when the UFC makes its first-ever trip to Canada on April 19th.
Bocek (5-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) came to the UFC in July of last year after racking up a 4-0 record with TKO, Apex, and King of the Cage. After losing to Frankie Edgar in his UFC debut Bocek bounced back with a unanimous decision win against Doug Evans at UFC 79 in December.
Danzig (17-4-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) is a former Gladiator Challenge and King of the Cage lightweight champion. After suffering back-to-back losses against Clay French and Hayato Sakurai, Danzig made his way to the UFC via an appearance as a competitior on The Ultimate Fighter 6. His first UFC win came over Tommy Speer on the finale of the show in December of 2007.

Speer was over matched from the word go – but that’s no glowing endorsement of Danzig.

I’ve got no problem with Mac. It’s nice to see someone who is 100% focused on his task, doesnt f*** around like everyone else in the house, and because of that ultimately won TUF6. Baller.
He’s got that whole “world is against me” attitude, picking fights in the house, etc. Basically, he doesn’t (or didn’t) act like a professional. Isn’t that what we are lead to believe these people are?

Danzig may have been unlikeable on TUF, but I think he’s going to make an impact in the UFC. A lot of these fights pit evenly matched competitors against each other. Danzig has heart, and that alone is what separates champions from cannon fodder.
The lightweight division has the most talented base of fighters from top to bottom, and it’s yet to be seen what Danzig might do in the UFC. But I’ll go out on a limb and say that Danzig will win this fight in a walk, with a first round TKO.
Danzig’s going to submit in round 1 with rear naked choke. He’s going to own in the stand up, Bocek going to give up his back and it will be all over. Even if it last longer bocek going to tire out trying to take Danzig down. He’s going to drop his gloves and get knocked out.
Uhhh…..Dart. I dont think Danzig is ever gonna submit Bocek. He is one of the most respected grapplers in the world.
I dont know much about bocek. But Danzig going to take him on the stand up. He can give up his back and anybody will tap or pass out when the rear naked is on. Is Bocek more of a wrestler? I thought BJJ. Give me some links of Bocek. When I start figthing I want to train in kick boxing wrestling and BJJ. Im saving up for my gym fees lol any advice on training etc. Let me know talk to you later.
I like Mac because he is a vegan. I think that is very awesome.
Thats also great to Im trying to cut out dairy products cause their really bad for me im highly allergic. Mac in his blog made a mention to what dairy does to uour body. I have a similar condition to his. Meat would be a lot tougher.
