Undefeated light heavyweight Stanislav Nedkov will look to finally make his UFC debut when he’s scheduled to face Luiz Cane at UFC 134 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on Aug. 27, the UFC announced Sunday.
Cane (11-3) had his three-fight win streak snapped with back-to-back losses to Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and Cyrille Diabate, but rebounded last month with a first-round TKO of Eliot Marshall.
Nedkov (11-0) improved to 11-0 with a first-round submission in 2010 and a pair of Sengoku wins in 2009, but an injury forced him from his UFC debut in August and a last-minute injury to his opponent scrapped an October bout.
Previously dubbed “UFC: Rio,” the UFC 134 fight card is headlined by UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva vs. Yushin Okami and also includes a rematch between former champs Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Forrest Griffin.

Wow talk about a good news/bad news sort of deal for Nedkov.
Good news, you’re making your UFC debut.
Bad news, its against Luiz Cane, who a lot of MMA observers are saying needs to make a statement in his next fight.
Best of luck with that…
I love how the UFC occasionally throws a newcomer to the wolves. Doesn’t sound fair but it’s a real opportunity, for sure.
Who’s that poor guy who drew Shane Carwin for his debut?!
