Jake Ellenberger Steps In to Face Sean Pierson at UFC 129 on April 30

Jake Ellenberger has agreed to replaced an inured Brian Foster and will now meet fellow welterweight Sean Pierson on the preliminary card of UFC 129 on April 30 in Toronto, the UFC announced Wednesday.

Foster was knocked off the card after a pre-fight MRI revealed a brain hemorrhage.

Ellenberger (24-5) narrowly beat Carlos Eduardo Rocha in February for his third-straight win, while Pierson (11-4) topped Matt Riddle in his UFC debut in December.

biggest opportunity forPierson. Im a huge fan of Ellengerger and i think he will (t)ko pierson, as pierson loves to brawl and will eventually get caught.

Too bad for Foster but I like this fight. I think Pierson will be in tough to win but he’ll make it entertaining. Glad I get to see this fight live.

As someone who has trained under Sean and known him for a while. Sean is a technical fighter with outstanding wrestling, boxing and jitz. I know he came across as a brawler in the last UFC but he was also trying to make an impression in his debut. Although I have a lot of respect for Jake and this is a big step up from Foster, Sean will control the ground as well as the standup and his outstanding wresting and hands will be the difference.

Sean can do it all and will be a monster in front of his hometown.

Pierson via unnan. dec. 29-28 in the fighter of the night.

Ellenberger is no joke, and having a guy like him step in isn’t exactly wonderful news for Pierson…
