Diaz is a bad match up for anyone except a great MMA wrestler

    • Dan82523 says:

What makes this fight so intriguing is that Diaz has not shown good wrestling or takedowns

We will most likely see a great speed puncher vs a great power puncher going toe to toe..at least in the early rounds..if the fight lasts more than two rounds, Diaz will almost certainly be in control

anyone going to go to the weigh in’s? Me and corey will be there

The more times Nick Diaz makes weight, passes whiz quizzes, and wins fights, the more he’s able to put his spotty past behind him.
The more times Gilbert Melendez beats decent opposition, the more he’s able to try and sell his story about being the best MMA 155er in the world.
    Sort of.
And Mousasi-Jardine has this great vibe of “whos for real?” IMO.
Guy who loses here really gets the stink eye from the fanbase, although Jardine has nothing to lose here.

Compelling stuff for the “minor leagues”, and deserving of a PPV platform down the road…

I agree- isn’t it incredible how a few years ago a win against Jardine welcomed you to the upper echelon of the division, but now a win doesn’t mean much (and a loss against him questions your relevancy).

  • learntoread says:

Hard to put any $$$ against Diaz, especially thinking back to his Pride debut where he was supposed to get royally TKO’d by the champ Gomi (who, at that time, was in his prime) and what ended up being an instant classic where Diaz put on the performance of his life & went on to finish Gomi.

Of course Daley has a punchers chance, or could get a lame-ass KJ Noons type win a la cuts / doc stoppage due to Diaz’s scar tissue issues.

Should be a fun fight none the less.

  • Phill says:

Diaz will try to replicate the manor of wich KOs beat Daley. Daley isnt a good wrestler and diaz has great bjj.. So diaz will want this on the ground and unless daley connects early or ever.. diaz will hold him.. So.. Diaz via UD

  • jayke says:

Comon Daley!Knock this dude the f… out!Should be some decent brawls. Anyone see the recent Ariel Helwani interview of Diaz? Good stuff…
For someone who didn’t want to do the interview he couldn’t stop talking.

silva vs belfort staredown was still better.

  • DrDoom says:

I was watching a video of the weigh-ins and Gegard looks like he’s ready to kill … Jardine says or does something as they turn for the pics and Mousasi gives him a bit of a gflance back as if to say ” oh ya ? you gonna get yer’s now buddy ” so I look forward to tomorrow for sure .

Oh man good to see Burt Watson on the strikeforce stage

  • russiandoeboi says:

I’m looking past Daley on this one.
Diaz is the most exciting WW IMO.
I’ll be watching Sheilds GSP fight watching how well Jake’s skillset works against GSP.
I’m figuring that in this wrestle-centric era of MMA Diaz may very well be rying to evolve

  • willyt says:

this is definitley one of the best cards strikeforce has put 2gether

  • chromie says:

    Diaz sub rd 4.

Daley simply doesn’t have Nick’s cardio. It should be a factor at some point.
Daley’s obviously no joke. His stance imo lends itself to good takedown defence but Nick is great at absorbing blows and relentless in his attack. I excpect daley to wear out a few rounds in.
really interesting match-up, whole MMA world will be watching.
