UFC Planning May 24th Event in Las Vegas
Details are beginning to emerge regarding an event the UFC is planning for May 24th.
The event, tentatively believed to be UFC 85, will be held in Las Vegas, likely at the Mandalay Bay Events Center. Depending on how the card shapes up it could also be moved to the larger MGM Grand Garden Arena. Three fights are currently rumored for the event.
In a potential main event Sean Sherk, who we reported could fight on the UFC 84 card in Montreal, will return at the event to take on BJ Penn or Joe Stevenson pending their fight next weekend for the UFC Lightweight Championship.
Additional fights which a rumored for the event are Rashad Evans vs. Thiago Silva and Tito Ortiz vs. Lyoto Machida.

Switch it to Evans vs Tito 2 and Silva vs Machida and now we are talkin..
Also throw in Arlovski!! Been too damn long since he last had a fight.
i hope evans tears silva up and what happen 2 the ufc event in hawaii?
i still say it’s bull**** that sherk walks right back into a title shot. f*** that guy. make him fight florian again without the roids and if he wins again, then he can fight for the title. until then, there’s too many other lightweights that deserve a title shot before him.
I want a UFC event in Chicago!! I thought there was supposed to be one here.

Silva is the real deal. If this fight happens, he is going to tear Rashad up – 1st round. He is no Bisping, this guy is a chute boxe stud. Tito, although not among the elite of the light heavyweights, and as ‘washed up’ as he may be, still has the talent and youth to succeed in this sport. I say he wins a close one over Machida. As for Sean Sherk, I agree with one of the other posters, he cheated – he shouldn’t deserve a title shot. Be that as it may, he is going to get it. But this will solidify the prodigy’s reign on top. BJ in round 2.
