Tito Ortiz Eyeing May Return

From Tito Ortiz:
“It’s all in the UFC’s hands.I have one more fight with them, my contract lasts until, I believe June. In May is when my fight will be?…I hope so!”
If Ortiz, one of the UFC’s most popular a polarizing fighters, doesn’t fight again until May he will have fought just once in the nearly 18 months since losing to Chuck Liddell at UFC 66. In his lone-fight during the timespan Ortiz fought to a draw against Rashad Evans at UFC 73 in July of 2007.
It remains to be seen whether he will accept a proposed bout against Lyoto Machida.

i think machida is a bad fight for tito. but if he takes it i hope we dont hear the same excuses of injury after his fight. i think tito is still a good fighter but is in danger of being left behind in a really top division.

“Its all in the UFCs Hands” well if thats the case why hasn’t he accepted the machida fight… I’m not sayin he doesn’t stand a chance but I am saying I don’t believe he’ll win..
I’m not sure if I can’t stand Tito, or if he’s not so bad. Either way, this fight doesn’t overly excite me.
I heard a rumor he refused a rematch with Evans and the UFC was ready to part ways with him. Any truth to that?
Who cares about Tito? I forgot he still “fights”. Maybe they should bring back Shamrock for one more go-round. That was some great fights,

I think I heard that an Ortiz/Evans rematch was scrapped because Ortiz was doing the Celebrity Apprentice. That’s pretty much all you need to know about Ortiz. Given the choice between doing reality TV or fighting again he choose reality TV. Maybe I’m wrong about that, but either way Ortiz hasn’t impressed me much in a while.
Good point, DrBdan. Regardless of the reason, I’m pretty confident he didn’t want a rematch, and doesn’t seem to want to be a fighter anymore.

As a kid playing football we had tons of people who wanted to play.. but didn’t want to get on the field.. I think tito’s glory days are behind him and he just doesn’t want to, or know how to let go and move on..
I don’t think that someone that wants to be known as ‘The Huntington Beach Badboy’ refuses to avenge a draw or a poor outing, whatever you want to call the fight with Evans. Tito is spending to much time making crap movies with his pornstar girlfriend and reality tv to be a real fighter anymore. By the way, I think Gene Simmons has worse hair than The Donald.
If Tito was hurt like he said he has been and this time off gets him healed and healthy, everyone is real naive to think he can’t be a force again. Tito is still good for the sport. Cut him a little slack…Let’s see how this pans out…

I just visited Tito’s website for the first time and all the info on it for 2008 is about the apprentice and other crap like that; nothing about fighting, nothing about Machida. Don’t think this fight is going to happen. In the above Photo doesn’t Tito’s huge melon kinda make him look like Homer J Simpson?
I think they should put in Danny Bonaduce. He willclean house in the UFC!
