UFC 82: Luke Cummo vs. Luigi Fioravanti

“The Silent Assasin” Luke Cummo will take on Luigi Fioravanti on the undercard of UFC 82: Pride of a Champion. Cummo confirmed the bout on his official website, event takes place March 1st in Columbus, Ohio and will air on pay-per-view. In the main event UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva takes on PRIDE champion Dan Henderson. The event will also include Heath Herring vs. Cheick Kongo, Josh Koscheck vs. Dustin Hazelett, and Jorge Gurgel vs. John Halverson

Cummo (6-4 MMA, 3-2 UFC) posted a 3-2 MMA record before being cast on the second season of The Ultimate Fighter. After winning two exhibition bouts on the show he faced Joe Stevenson on the finals losing by unanimous decision. Despite the finale loss “The Silent Assassin” was still signed by the UFC and won his next fight against Jason Von Flue. After losing to Jonathan Goulet at UFC Fight Night 5 Cummo took nearly a year off from fighting before returning to the UFC in 2007 with wins over Josh Haynes and Edilberto de Olivera.

Fioravanti (11-3 MMA, 2-3 UFC) made his UFC debut in 2006 at UFC Fight Night 4 losing by unanimous decision to Chris Leben. Following the loss the American Top Team fighter won four straight fights including UFC wins over Solomon Hutcherson and Dave Menne. He next faced Jon Fitch and Forrest Petz but was on the losing end of both bouts. After fighting victoriously outside of the UFC in July, Fioravanti will yet-again return to the octagon to take on Cummo.
