Former UFC welterweight and lightweight competitor Marcus Davis has signed a deal to compete for Maximum Fighting Championships.
The deal was announced by MFC President Mark Pavelich during the broadcast of “MFC: Supremacy” on HDNet Friday night.
It is unknown when Davis will make his debut with the promotion.
Davis most recently was reported as being the co-promoter of the first sanctioned mixed martial arts event in the state of Maine.
Davis will be co-promoting the event under the Cage Fighting Xtreme banner on April 30 in Portland, Maine at the Stevens Avenue Armory.
Davis was cut from the UFC in January after an over four year run with the promotion. Davis 9-5 in the UFC but was cut after suffering his second straight loss to Jeremy Stephens at UFC 125.
