Eliot Marshall Fills In Against Luiz Cane at UFC 128 on March 19

Eliot MarshallKarlos Vemola was forced to pull out of an upcoming bout with Luiz Cane at UFC 128  yesterday due to an infection, forcing a last minute change to the card.

Tatame now reports that the UFC has quickly found a replacement opponent as The Ultimate Fighter 8 veteran Eliot Marshall will fill in against Cane at next month’s event.

Marshall went 3-1 in his first stint in the UFC including wins over Jason Brilz and Vinny Magalhaes.

He was cut after a loss to veteran Vladimir Matyushenko, however. Since then, Marshall has won three straight in various independent organizations and the injury to Vemola provides a second chance for “The Fire” in the UFC.

Cane is coming off two straight losses to Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and Cyrille Diabate. He is 3-3 overall in the UFC.

UFC 128 takes place on March 19 from Newark, New Jersey and features a main event light heavyweight title belt as champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua defends against Jon Jones.
