Bellator Season Four Lightweight Tournament Quarterfinals Set For March 12

Carey VanierBellator’s season four lightweight tournament will begin at Bellator 36 on March 12 and air live on MTV 2.

Sherdog has confirmed a headlining quarterfinal pitting former WEC lightweight champion Rob McCullough against Patricky “Pitbull” Freire.

A quarterfinal between Carey Vanier and Lloyd Woodard is also set to take place at the event.

The two fights join previously announced matchups pitting Marcin Held vs. Michael Chandler and Ferrid Kheder vs. Toby Imada. The four bouts complete the brackets for the 8-man 155-pound tournament.

No location has yet been announced for the event.

Bellator’s fourth season kicks off on March 5 with Bellator 35 from Tachi Palace Casino in Lemoore, CA.

That event features four welterweight quarterfinal bouts including “Judo” Jim Wallhead vs. Rick Hawn, Anthony Lapsely, who replaced an injured Steve Carl, vs. Jay Hieron, Chris Lozano vs. Lyman Good, and Brent Weedman vs. Dan Hornbuckle.
