I don’t know if Clemente dhould have gotten the sub of the night. Personally, I think Machida’s front arm triangle on Sokodjoi was more impressive. Just an opinion. Too bad Chuck earned about half the paid salary. He fought brilliantly, but half the pay out????
I thought GSP got the sub of the night on Hughes???
Chuck got $500,000 for the fight and an extra 50,000 for fight of the nght.. Nice amount of money for the ROCK STAR… And i agree GSP’s submit was much better. Hughes was in so much pain he couldnt even tap… Just cried like a baby..
Yeah why does Clementi get sub of the night GSPs armbar Machidas arm triangle and maybe even Gamburyans leglock were better then Richs choke on Melvin “The Screw Up” Guillard
chuck gets 550k for winning after 2 pathetic loses, and gsp only gets 160k, sounds like danas friendship with chuck has something to do with it. chuck will get smashed by rampage for the third time and then he can retire. gsp will win the real belt, smash a few people and then move to middle weight. silve looked like he was in a daze, the next time they fight he will win.
Yeah that was my bad putting Clementi as sub of the night as it was GSP. I originally reported the awards correctly in an earlier post and simply listed them incorrectly here. My appologies, thanks for the correction.
Ok, Chuck was definitely overpaid. How is it with his two losses that he is making still making that much? Hughes and GSP should have had a comparable purse, and they did not. Maybe Zuffa is looking at fan base and how much attention Chuck is bringing to the UFC.
gsp is the man
rampage is unstoppable will he get 500K for wupping chuck?
chuck gets paid so much because he sells the tickets hes the main guy who everyone wants to see fight! the ice man is back bring rampage on chuck will kill him next time round .
anyone no were i can watch the undercards fights would like to watch manny!
I think it’s in Chuck’s Contract to get 500k every fight win or lose.
All pro sports have the same issue. If a guy has some good fights/games/seasons he can get signed to a better contract and then if his performance falls off he still gets paid the big money.
I like the idea of a bonus for the winner but I think it should be the same for both fighters. For example, Chuck gets 250k and Wanderlei gets 150k with the win bonus being 250k. So if Chuck wins he still gets his 500k but also Wanderlei has the opportunity to win a big purse. This would help avoid a Keith Jardine situation where the underdog wins but hardly gets any bonus for doing so, compared to the loser’s salary.
I hope everyone enjoyed that submission by Pierre as much as I did. I do believe it was the most enjoyable and thrilling moment in UFC history for me. Watching Matt cry like a baby to the ref as priceless and I replayed it 20 times and still wasn’t tired of it.
I hated seeing Chuck win… but Silva will be back and that’s all that matters there… Chuck will lose to Rampage and I hope Jardine again before it’s over. Now I’d like to see Silva vs. Jardine. That would be a good secondary main event.
gsp rocked hughes…!whoah…all wins by hughes wasnt that superb as gsps wins…no doubt gsp was the best fighter…gsp was totally an all skill fighter unlike hugghes who just wrestle and cant stand toe to toe…gsp deserves it(the win) as well as hughes(the lost)(the crying baby)…
chuck lidell..go on and get back that belt…
Is it just me i think watching liddell is boring he offers Little offence that’s why rampage smashed him twice he is afraid to get hit. i think if we were to see a coutre liddel 4 he would get smashed and what was up with the jardine fight he just stood there
BORING.
So chuck if you read this you suck if you fight rampage again and you go with that **** style of fighting you are going to get knocked out again like a b**** you and Hughes go home
poor doug
