A matchup between middleweight contenders Wanderlei Silva and Brian Stann is still slated for UFC 130, despite recent reports that it had been scrapped from the May 30 event in Las Vegas.
“It’s on,” UFC President Dana White simply confirmed following Saturday’s UFC 126 event.
Over the weekend, reports said Silva would not be recovered for the Memorial Day weekend bout, which followed rumors that Silva was hesitant to fight Stann because he considers him an American hero.
For now the fight remains on the UFC 130 fight card, which is headlined by lightweight champ Frankie Edgar vs. Gray Maynard and also features Quinton “Rampage” Jackson vs. Thiago Silva, Frank Mir vs. Roy Nelson, and Thiago Alves vs. Rick Story.
