I don't have a clue what your second sentence means but the IVC started in 1997 and has been gone since 2003 so I think that speaks for itself. The UFC almost died completely because it was deemed 'too brutal' until the Fertitta's bought it and finally gained sanctioning in New Jersey eight years ago by instituting certain rules. The UFC still doesn't even have santioning in all 50 states let alone other countries. Basically the UFC is an American owned and operated promotion so it had to be accepted by Americans or it would have been gone 5 years ago or more. The rules banning axe kicks, stomps, knees to the head of a downed opponent and others have to be there or the UFC would be banned in the US entirely. If Silva and others want to join the big boys and make the big bucks then he/they have to adjust to the rules. I'm not saying I agree entirely with them but the UFC didn't initially either.
I would love to know what you're second question is about.

badbas:
I don't understand what your getting at, you feel that a 'real fight' should have soccer kicks, head stomps and knee's to the head of a downed opponent, that's fair play in a 'real fight' but eye gouging and head butting isn't?? The last two are not allowed in the UFC or Pride. The Axe Kick is allowed in the UFC as long as it's not to the head. So you figure that since Silva couldn't knock Chuck out he should have been able to use an Axe Kick to do it? He had his chance to jump Chuck when Chuck went down and he didn't, surely you would agree Silva has more weapons than his kicks. The UFC IS the biggest organization by far, that's EASY to say. As for Sakuraba he's turning 40 this year and is past his prime, he's a great fighter don't get me wrong but he's fought Silva three times and lost all three fights. Bottom line is this is a sport and not 'real fights' so rules are necessary, also keep in mind that the rules are from the Unified Rules of Mixed Martial Arts and their creation only had limited input from the UFC.
I think you're just sore that Wanderlei Silva lost and you're a big Pride fan, I would be sore too. Learn to deal with it, because Pride's gone.

I find it interesting that Dan Henderson managed to knock out Silva but Chuck Liddell couldn't do it. Dangerous Dan Henderson is my choice against Anderson Silva, he'll knock him out. Henderson is stronger, more experienced and with as many skills as Anderson..he'll eventually catch him with a big punch and that will be the begining of the end for Silva.
Pound for pound Henderson might be the hardest puncher in MMA. Wandderlei Silva got knocked out cold by a left hand of Henderson's, yet his right hand is suppose to be stronger. Anyway, I think Dan's boxing skills and sheer power will win the fight for him.

Because you started this stupid argument... I will go on.

P.F.O.2 says: what these pro fighters could’ve and should’ve done

It's: could 'of' done, not could've done (which is what it sounds like in your head...)

P.F.O.2 says: I’ve read alot of the comments above and some of you dudes know what you’re talking about.

That's according to your judgment/life experience.

P.F.O.2 says: The others…have you ever been in a REAL fight…I’m gone.

are you serious? People dont need to be in a REAL fight to understand the fighting game. Understanding is easy, DOING it is harder.

Look, before some of you brainiacs start educating the world on what these pro fighters could've and should've done, maybe you all should go back to 2nd grade and educate yourselves on how to spell 4 and 5 letter words. We may then, possibly, understand your expert advise.
As far as the time goes for each round, stop it. If ifs were fifths goddamn it. Fighters are aware of how much time they have and they train accordingly. You think Liddell and Silva would have fought the same fight if the rounds were 2 minutes shorter or 2 minutes longer?
