Kickboxer and DREAM veteran Melvin Manhoef has confirmed his return to Strikeforce as he is set to participate in the upcoming Strikeforce: Columbus event on March 5.
The middleweight confirmed is participation in the event via his Twitter account.
Manhoef’s opponent is unknown at this time.
The former Cage Rage light heavyweight champion has competed once in Strikeforce, losing a bout against Robbie Lawler via knockout at Strikeforce: Miami in January 2010.
Since then, Manhoef has competed twice, losing a kickboxing bout to Gokhan Saki in May of last year as well as dropping an MMA bout to Tatsuya Mizuno via submission at Dream.15 in June.
Strikeforce: Columbus features a light heavyweight title bout as champion Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante defends against Dan Henderson.
Also, 135-lb women’s champion Marloes Coenen defends her title against Miesha Tate, Tim Kennedy takes on Luke Rockhold in a middleweight bout, and undefeated Billy Evangelista takes on Jorge Masvidal in a lightweight fight.
