    GSP vs Shields?
    Machida vs Couture?
    Aldo vs Hominick?
    “mr wonderful” vs “the hammer”?
    Henderson vs Bocek?

    + a fan expo?

    …lucky bastards!!!

Dude i hope hominick dethrones aldo. He’s looked awesome lately and has superb technique to hang with aldo. But aldo is one bad motherfucker so we’ll see. I’m honestly just hoping hominick doesn’t get destroyed in the first.

  • This is a basa$$ card.
………What’s next for Canada?, GSP vs Anderson SIlva as the main event and Uriah Faber vs Miguel Torres co-main event? And Wanderlei Sonnen as the first main card fight? Looks to be so the way things are going up north ;)

It has a lot to do with it being their first foray into Ontario, and DW has stated before Toronto is their biggest market ppv wise. Plus they’re selling 40000 tickets, so it makes sense to have a sick card.

That suggestion for their second go in Ontario sounds food to me (please Ottawa, please).

  • JAWBREAKER says:

Ok, I think the UFC established a fan base in Canada already lets move on. I even feel bad for the poor Europeans and the cards they get, but I guess they don’t know any better. But anyway about the fight Machida better hope he gets a quick KO or can run the whole three rounds but I think its inevitable Randy will catch him and take him down. Tough to pick a winner on this one.

    • Channer says:

We don’t know better? You nuts? Didn’t you hear the uproar about having bisbing headlining another uk card? We know our mma and hopefully Anderson silva and bisping will fight each other over here. Silva to win.

    Damned Canadians.
Best coffee [Tim Hortons], best donuts [again Tim Hortons], best beer [Molson Canadian], best MMA fighter in the world [GSP], best ex-gf I almost married [She-Who-Will-Not-Be-Named], and the best party/hangout chicks you’ll ever meet at any bar…

^ex wife is from toronto so all I have to say is FUUUUUU…..nevermind i’ll keep it clean :)

I can understand the business side of this. UFC wants to keep business booming in canada and have it grow more so what better way then the best card of the year(so far).

      • mikewh says:

Your right it is business but i have to wonder with over 45,000 seats available how much is too many regarding the view from higher up.
The UFC is putting in big screens and risers and so on but i’d rather have my home crowd, snacks, drinks and Rogan with replays instead of sitting far away from the octagon.
Of course i’ve never been to an event…my first will be in Vancouver this summer.

    • mikewh says:

Also i bet the UFC saves money on hospital procedures after the fights for Canadian fighters.
This is a seriously stacked card, every fight has great entertainment potential..i’m stoked for Henderson/Bocek for a ground game transition clinic.
Other than that i don’t know where to start…too much to talk about, have to gather my thoughts.
      Cheers from sunny Vanvouver!

      • chromie says:

Mike do you know when tickets go on sale for Vancouver? Cheers from sunny Abbotsford!;) what a beautiful day it is here in the fraser Valley indeed, eh!

      • jiujitsuman says:

lol quite the opposite actually…. if anything it will cost more because they are not residents of that province… AND

our free health care isnt really free, its subsidized based on income and if you make over 26k per year you must pay the maximum monthly rate of 65$ unless you have a private healthcare plan… and this varies from province to province as well…

so chances are these fighters which are not ontario residents, or residents of canada for that matter will not be covered under our free health care system and woudl have to pay for services rendered…

only realy difference with canada and the usa is we will fix you first then bill you without having to fill out paper work while your dieing

      • jcohl says:

        @jiujitsuman
All I can say is that when I was working in Toronto I cut my hand pretty badly on a mandolin and was taken promptly to an area hospital and received great care and never saw a bill or paid a dime.
Things get much worse here, and I’m throwing my dog and my knives in my Jeep and heading north…
        ;-)

      • jiujitsuman says:

jchol@ ya most likely becuase it was an on the job accident you were treated and taken care of and the bill would have gone to your employer… there would have been a WCB(workers compensation board) investigation…

now on the job injuries with the ufc, cant really call those accidents…but besides chances are the ufc will be billed for any hospital expenses… well maybe they wont be but there insurance company will be…

      @ jcohl
      :)

      • Canadian Bacon says:

sorry I hit the wrong button. Hey, does it mean anything that all our sports teams suck? The Leafs suck. The Raptors suck. The Jays are ok but play in too tough a divison with the Red Sox and Yankees. ( Nice tims reference too….I never thought I’d hear that on this site.)

      • jcohl says:

        @canadian bacon
        Forget sports, and think bigger.
        I’m reasonably familiar with Toronto.
I subbed briefly for a friend of mine who is a station chef at the Royal York Hotel’s room service kitchen awhile back, so I became intimately familiar with both Tim Horton’s donuts and Timothy’s lattes and cafe Americanos.
        ;-)
I’ve also dined with friends at Marc Thuet’s restaurant Bite Me! and grabbed some lunches at Petite Thuet over on King St. in Toronto.
Great city with a vibrant music and restaurant scene and theatre district, poppin’ club scene and stacked with great people were my impressions.
The UFC IMO could do He11a worse than running bigtime shows out of there on a very regular basis…

  • chromie says:

According to the big guy himself Dana White, Canada IS “the MECCA OF mixed martial arts”. :D

  • NicKageB says:

Hope this one doesnt sell out to quick, it might be worth the 5 hr drive

  • mattyk says:

so stoked for this , my first UFC event and its going to be amazing.

  • Kyle2286 says:

I talk to so many ppl that tell me they are going to the event, i ask them one simple question. “Do you have a UFC Fight Club Membership to buy pre-sale tickets?” and they say “F- THAT” well that is just stupid. You know how to make sure you get tickets is to join and even split the cost with some friends and then you are basically garenteed to get tickets for the event you want. So for Rob, Chris, and Ryan. I hope you guys are able to get tickets cause I dont have any open spots when you come begging me for a seat.
