The UFC has released welterweights Greg Soto, Amilcar Alves and lightweight Willamy “Chiqueirm” Freire following their losses earlier this month at UFC 125 and UFC Fight for the Troops 2.
Soto was submitted in the opening round by Daniel Roberts at UFC 125 for his second loss in three UFC fights, Alves fell to 0-2 in the UFC after falling to Charlie Brenneman at UFC Fight for the Troops 2, and Freire dropped a unanimous decision to Waylon Lowe in his Octagon debut at the Jan. 22 event.
The releases were reported by MMA Diehards, MMA Supremacy, and Tatame.
They join heavyweight Tim Hague and retiring welterweight Mike Guymon as recent cuts from the UFC roster.

Hate to hear about any cuts, but really hate to see Greg Soto go. Great fighter, and I think we can expect to see him resurface very soon.
Maybe along with the “DO YOU WANT TO BE A FIGHTER?” placard oftentimes shown on TUF, another placard should be placed next to it that says “WIN OR GET THE FU<K OUT!"…
LMAO
