“Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Silva” Prelims Air on HDNet on Feb. 12

FedorPreliminary bouts from “Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Silva” on February 12 will air live on HDNet at 8pm ET, marking the first time Strikeforce prelims have been televised.

HDNet Fights CEO Andrew Simon recently told MMAjunkie the channel is looking to expand its coverage of all mixed martial arts including its original program, “Inside MMA.”

“(It) depends on the event, but we are open to airing prelims from Strikeforce, UFC or any major event. You will see ‘Inside MMA’ on the road quite a bit this year as well coming live from weigh-ins,” Simon stated.

Topping the prelims is a bout between lightweight prospects John Cholish and The Ultimate Fighter 12’s Marc Stevens.

The broadcast will also feature a welterweight matchup between Igor Gracie and John Salgado. Gracie is the son of Rolls Gracie and trains out of the Renzo Gracie Academy.

Strikeforce: Fedor vs Silva is headlined by the first two quarterfinal bouts of the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix tournament pitting Fedor Emelianenko vs Antonio “Big Foot” Silva and Andrei Arlovski vs. Sergei Kharitonov.
