Despite riding a 6-fight losing streak dating back to 2008, former UFC lightweight champion Jens Pulver will continue to search for another win as he steps back into the cage in March.
“Little Evil” will compete for Chicago Cagefighting Championship on March 5 in Villa Park, Illinois.
MMA Junkie reports that the 36-year old Pulver will face an opponent to be announced.
Pulver’s losing streak began at WEC 34 when he faced then WEC featherweight champion Urijah Faber in a heavily hyped title bout. The two men engaged in a classic five round fight earning them the “Fight of the Night” honors. Pulver, however, ended up losing the fight via unanimous decision.
“Little Evil” would go on to lose a second consecutive bout against Leonard Garcia at WEC 36 in November 2008 via TKO.
Pulver’s losing skid would not stop there as he would go on to drop three straight fights in the WEC via submission, two of them due to a guillotine choke. Pulver was cut by the promotion in June 2010.
His most recent loss occurred in August 2010 at Powerhouse World Promotions’ “War on the Mainland” event when he was submitted by Diego Garijo, again by a guillotine choke.

Jens – Please just retire and coach young up and comers! It’s a travesty to watch somebody so talented not just retire. With what he knows, I’m sure one of the major teams would gladly have him as a coach.
I agree. Jens, your one of my favorite fighters. But enough is enough. Take a page out of Liddels playbook. Teach, coach, interview, be a commentator. Im sure any organization or gym will love to have you work for them.
Honestly this is disgusting. The UFC are cutting guys left and right, some with decent octagon records, and they keep this guy?
Did you read the article or just the headline before you jumped down to the bottom to throw that uninformed opinion on the screen?
LOL. I hear Pulver is next in line for the lhw belt…
Ha, I thought I heard he was moving to ww and challenging GSP.
Didn’t he say himself that he can’t keep doing this to the fans.
I guess its hard to walk away, especially when you have a family to take care of…
I just might have to go and watch this event. Chase Bebe will be fighting on this card as well. Only if tickets are not over-inflated because Jens is on the bill now. I’d like to see him go out at least with a W in lieu of a 6 losses in-a-row.
I have a feeling the medics are going to clean up whats left of Pulver with a mop…
