As expected, the UFC will make its Kentucky debut with UFC on Versus 3 on March 3 at Louisville’s KFC Yum! Center, the promotion officially announced Thursday.
Welterweights Diego Sanchez and Martin Kampmann meet in the UFC on Versus 3 main event, while middleweights Mark Munoz and CB Dollaway square off in the night’s co-headliner.
Also confirmed for the event were Brian Bowles vs. Damacio Page, Alessio Sakara vs. Maiquel Falcao, Shane Roller vs. Thiago Tavares, and Takeya Mizugaki vs. Francisco Rivera, which were all previously reported on MMAFrenzy.com.
Tickets for UFC on Versus 3 go on sale to UFC Fight Club members on Jan. 12, UFC newsletter subscribers on Jan. 13, and the general public on Jan. 14.

Great for a free card, looking forward to it. With Sanchez looking like the ‘Nightmare’ of old in his fight with Thiago, and kampmann coming off his win (IMO) over Shields this should be a good scrap.
Free-per-views like this are part of the reason that casual fans eventually “buy in” to PPVs, or even events themselves.
Good stuff…
CB DOLLAWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is a solid “UFC on Versus” card
YES YES!! I’m looking forward to this fight. i think that in the clinch Kampmann will outpower Sanchez, but Sanchez has the scrappiness to him, but I like Kampmann in this fight to win. What a great fight though, i just don’t see Diego with the strength or the power to either ko Kampmann, or keep him on the ground for some gnp. Kampmann be decision!
CANT WAIT TO SEE THIS LIVE in my hometown!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UFC really put a good card together for being in Louisville for the first time!!! :)
Yes they did, and now they need to come to Ottawa!
Hope you have a great time!
DIEGO baby! YUSSS!
I bet you won’t say that while doing a cartwheel.

Maybe if we give him enough Gentleman Jack…
;-)
Sorry in advance, this is kinda off topic:
I just realized the article says “March 3 at Louisville’s KFC Yum! Center”
Is that for real? the “KFC Yum! center”? Really? Embarrassing. I was just at the Yum center, haha.
@newfie Yeah, that’s correct. Trust me, it’s better than having the UFC at Freedom Hall in Louisville. If you’re travelling to the event, be warned that the Galt House elevators don’t do well with dealing with heavy traffic associated with events.
@newfie -
Hey, we had a Bojangles Center event too if memory serves.
I honestly thought that was a goof until @justin schooled me on the wonder that is Bojangles…
;-)
But at least it was just the “Bojangles Center” with no silliness like “Yum!” thrown in.
@justin -
Holy Crap!
Just dawned on me that the “Yum!” was legit and not a goof.
My apologies to Bojangles and all their customers.
Seriously, whats next?
The KY Jelly Arena?
The Tampax Bowl?
Trojan Condoms Stadium?
I am NOT a huge fan of corproations hanging their names on buildings and sports events, but the YUM is a bit much even for me…
haha yuo’re right bsbiz, no cartwheels from me! unless i just had a night out with arianny then it’s cartwheels all day!
@jazzkok -
If you have energy left for cartwheels the next day after a night out with Arianny Celeste, I’m pretty sure you’ve done something wrong…
;-)
@jcohl,
i think she’d be the one who wouldnt be functioning right, being the terminator that i am…just another night of layin it down =) hahaha that was me swearing i’m casanova btw LOL
I can’t wait to see the stare down between kampmann and sanchez. That’s gonna be great!
This could very well be as entertaining as the Sanchez/Thiago fight (one of the best of last year, IMO).
On paper great fight! Sanchez has the potential to go back to being the “Nightmare” that he once was. Personally i do think he is back in business. Title bound??? Probably not but is in the making for some exciting fights to come. Prediction- Sanchez edges Kampmann out in decision. Agreed or not agreed?
