Medical suspensions have been handed out from last weekend’s ‘UFC 124: St-Pierre vs. Koscheck 2′ event in Montreal, and headliner Josh Koscheck’s 60 day suspension topped the list.
Koscheck underwent surgery earlier this week for a broken orbital that shut his eye in a lopsided decision to welterweight champ Georges St-Pierre in the UFC 124 headliner and will likely be sidelined well beyond the mandatory two months.
Joe Stevenson joined Koscheck with a 60 day suspension after suffering a first-round KO to Mac Danzig on the Dec. 11 pay-per-view main card, while all of the event’s fighters received precautionary suspensions of at least 7 days.
The official UFC 124 medical suspensions (via The Underground) were:
- 60 days: Josh Koscheck, Joe Stevenson
- 45 days: Dan Miller, Joe Doerksen, Sean Pierson
- 30 days:Sean McCorkle, John Howard, Rafael Natal, Matt Riddle, TJ Grant, Pat Audinwood
- 28 days: Georges St-Pierre
- 21 days: Thiago Alves, Jesse Bongfeldt
- 14 days: Ricardo Almeida, John Makdessi
- 7 days: Stefan Struve, Jim Miller, Charles Oliveira, Mac Danzig, Dustin Hazelett, Mark Bocek

George got 28 days for wat? He punched kosplay too much?
Sry GSP look at me call him george like were buddies and not even put the s on the end
It could be the fact that he went all five rounds? Just a guess.
Anyone else shocked that Kos got a 60 day suspension for a brocket eye socket? Like Joe gets KO’d and Josh needs surgery and they have the same suspension?
^good point. Maybe Joe daddys suspension is to give him enough time to mentally prepare for the “after his ko loss at ufc 124 Joe Stevenson was released and sent to bellator” news?
LOL.
“Sent to Bellator”…good stuff jazz…
;-)
time to see koscheck vs hardy now!
I may be wrong, but IMO Koscheck-Hardy would go much the same way that Koscheck-Daley did.
And while some might dig that sort of thing, fightwise it was pretty lame IMO watching a fish like Daley try to hang with a former NCAA wrestling champion for 15 minutes…
Only 60 days for a broken orbital. Not that bad. ;)
Georges 28 day suspension is more or less a forced resting period to ensure no injuries arise. Although he probably took far more of a beating in training then Kos delivered the entire fight.
Koscheck/Hughes anyone?
