Jose Aldo Out of UFC 125 Co-Headliner with Josh Grispi

Newly-crowned UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo has withdrawn from his UFC 125 co-headliner with Josh Grispi after being sidelined by a back injury ahead of the New Year’s Day event in Las Vegas, Heavy reports.
Aldo was awarded the UFC belt by Dana White over the weekend ahead of UFC 123 and would have been making his Octagon debut along with Grispi following World Extreme Cagefighting’s merger with the UFC.

I can’t believe this! Shane Carwin – out of Ufc 125 for back injury, and now Jose Aldo out of co.-main event because of a back injury? It just seems obsurd, but that’s how the sport of MMA goes I guess. Is there a back injury curse on the UFC 125 co.-main event? Hmm……….. lol
two things – first of all, I’m calling for a interim belt. Second, 10% of this merger was to get aldo on this card and now it’s not happening. funny. interim belt, ha!

Looks like this card has been kind of plagued by injuries. Maybe now Thiago silva vs Vera will get a main card slot?

Yeah I agree! That is a definitly possibly. I don’t know what else could fit quite frankly….. any other suggestions?
Terrible news, but I wonder if they would consider moving one of the title fights from the final WEC event back a couple of weeks. That would mean either a number one contender fight or another title fight for the New Years card.
Ortiz vs. Rampage would be a sick matchup. Rampage was barely touched in his last fight, so should be able to make it on 2 months notice.
If not, Ortiz and Lil Nog would be a good matchup, not as good as Ortiz/Rampage though.
Ortiz? Never happen, rampage is top of the heap and tito has one foot out the door.
The only good part of seeing him fight rampage would be seeing him KOed in similar fashion to Matt Hughes. Tito is done.

OUCH! That’s another big hit to an already sub-par New Year’s card. Will be interesting to see if another big ticket fight can be added this close to the event. And god help us if Vera gets bumped to the main card. 5 rounds of Edgar/Maynard already has me dozing off to sleep, another 3 round snoozer doesn’t make things more appealing.
With that being said, the other 3 main event fights do look exciting.
Back injuries do suck! Buy hmm…. it’s a vaulable question! I enjoy the idea of the WEC card move to the 125 New Year’s Card. I also adore the idea of Tito & Rampage! Tito and Lil Nog would be good but idk… I think Tito is down & out.. I guess we will see…. Or how about Liddel vs. Ortiz (Retirement Fight) :D
Why is Tito’s name being used im the same sentence with Rampage?!?!?! R u guys serious? This is second comment i read that is suggesting Tito vs Page…. Cmon ppl i know we all have our dream match ups but there is no way a guy like tito is gonna get a fight with a top contender!!!
