UFC Cuts Karo Parisyan, Tyson Griffin Safe After UFC 123 Losses
After an uninspiring performance Saturday at UFC 123, Karo Parisyan has been cut again by the UFC. The troubled Armenian did not appear to be in good shape heading into the bout and never looked good in suffering a quick TKO loss to veteran Dennis Hallman. This marks the second time the former welterweight contender has been released from the UFC.
In other UFC 123 news, lightweight Tyson Griffin will not be cut despite suffering his third-straight loss Saturday at the hands of Nik Lentz. The fight ended in a controversial split decision as many believed Griffin was the aggressor throughout the bout, including UFC President Dana White, who said “Tyson Griffin got [expletive] big time tonight.” The five-time fight of the night winner will likely receive one more chance in the UFC.

Tgriff won that fight no doubt about it ontop of that I don’t know why thay hav’nt matched us up it would be a barn burner!!
Cuase you are too big for him
Probably because you are not him, stop impersonating some one if you wish to keep posting here.
I wouldve been furious if Griffin was cut
Without a doubt he was robbed!!..I was ther and could not believe it!!
I am sure that if Griffin won there would be posts about it going the other way
MMA fighting scored it for griffin, sherdog for griffin, MMAJunkie for griffin, Dana white for Griffin…etc… some how I don’t think there would be as much complaining for Lentz losing…
I fear for the neighbourhood in which Karo resides. With no organisation to fight for there’s no telling what he could do to people on “the street”
What about Matt Brown?
no word yet on Matt Brown, these two were mentioned specifically by Dana.
I do fear for his UFC career, though.
As a Parisyan fan from a good while before he displayed some personal problems it’s hard to see him go out like this. When he had his sh!t together he put on some of the most entertaining matches and brought the good fight to all of his opponents. If he can somehow pull the pieces back together on the small circuit I’d still watch him if he made a SF or overseas comeback.
Wishing him good luck and hope that he can salvage the rest of his career into something more productive than he’s shown as of late…
With wec merging with ufc griffin should consider dropping to 145lbs.
I’m not sure Griffin could make 145. I think he has too much junk in his trunk.
If Karo had came into the fight in shape he might have been given a second chance. Instead it looked like he came in on short notice and didn’t prepare or look good.
Also, Tyson was definitely robbed. The fight wasn’t really all that bad considering Nick Lentz was involved but Tyson was the aggressor, had better stand up, and had more takedowns. I’m glad to see he’s getting a second chance.
is no one talkin about the ****in round ending early when that choke was in it said ten seconds on the clock buffer said ten seconds to go and not 3 seconds later the buzzer goes
when?
Impossible
Buffer wouldn’t have said anything. He’s the ring announcer.
In round 1 Falcao had the choke on Harris and the horn sounded with 6 seconds left on the clock for some reason.
I think we see 2 good decisions made here by the org.
Griffin has proved that he belongs in the UFC, and unfortunately Parisyan has proved that he [once again] no longer belongs in the UFC.
Pretty open and shut case IMO…
sorry not buffer i meant goldberg,,thanks tommymma for seeing that it was unreal six secondsmore and harris would have been out,,im just suprised NOONE is talkin about it,at the time i taught it was a pretty big deal
I’ll check t again later but to be honest the main thing I remember in that fight is those two staring at each other for minutes at a time.
Just watched it again with my fight clock app running, and the round ended seven seconds early. Read up on it and the only thing Dana said about the fight is when he rips Falcao for turning it into the “Ultimate Staring Competition…”
It will most likely be covered by the MUCC as that’s whose responsibility it is and not the UFC. Most likely it was human error but it is a very unfortunate one considering the circumstances.
when I was watching it at the palace it said there was 9 seconds left when Falcao had him in the RNC and then it Mirgliotta pulled Falcao off with probably 5 seconds left. It was really strange. There was no blow horn or anything.
yeah third round was dreadful please do check it again let me know what u think. im so suprised its being swept under the carpet though i’d love to hear what dana white thinks about it
I’m not sure if its so much “being swept under the carpet” as it is getting drowned out in all the post 123 Jackson-Machida noise…
THE FOLLOWING LIST, DESERVES ARE BEING CUT OF UFC
JOE DOERKSEN, TIM HAGUE, MIKE GUYMON, GILBERT YVEL, MATT BROWN, I THINK THIS PEOPLE ARE VERY FRIENDS OF DANA AND THE PERSON WHO DECIDES WHAT FIGHTER FIGHT WITH THE OTHER FIGHTER, I DONT REMEMBER THE NAME OF THIS PERSON.
1) His name is Joe Silva.
2) No need at all for the caps.
3) Doerksen is scheduled to fight at UFC 124. He might be cut later, but not two weeks before a fight.
4) Tim Hague was cut from the UFC following his loss to Joey Beltran at UFC 113, won two fights in the lower leagues and is now back for another look-see at the Fight for the Troops 2.
5) Matt Brown could be cut, but he brings it every time and will take on anyone anywhere and there is usually a place in the UFC for that.
I DONT THINK SO, WAND WIN ONLY THREE WINS IN UFC, PETARRA, JARDINE AND BISPING, BUT HE BRINGS ALL THE TIME GOOD FIGHTS, EXCEPT WITH BELFORT, AND HE DESERVES TOM STAY IN UFC BECAUSE HE FIGHT LIKE NO OTHER.
