MARK MUNOZ VS. AARON SIMPSON
Round 1 – Aaron Simpson opens the action with an early combination, then looks for a takedown, but Mark Munoz keeps him in the clinch against the fence before pushing away. They trade knees in another clinch and Munoz throws wild punches as they separate. Munoz lunges forward and connects with punches then shoots, but Simpson stuffs it and briefly takes his back. Simpson gets a takedown, but Munoz quickly stands and they trade punches. Munoz rocks Simpson with punches in the clinch, forcing Simpson to try for another takedown. They struggle for position in another clinch before separating. Munoz misses with a high kick after eating a knee in the closing seconds. MMAFrenzy.com scores the first for Munoz 10-9.
Round 2 – Simpson hits the body to start the second. Munoz gets tripped down after a body kick gets caught, but connects on Simpson after quickly returning to his feet. Munoz connects again, then gets control of Simpson briefly before a kick catches Munoz low and there’s a brief break. Bleeding from the forehead, Munoz fires kicks on the restart and Simpson catches one again, but Munoz escapes this time. Munoz lands again, but Simpson weathers fine and gets another takedown. They’re restarted quickly, but Munoz lands below the belt on Simpson and there’s another brief break. After another exchange, Simpson drags Munoz down again, then Munoz tries unsuccessfully for a takedown of his own. They struggle for position in the clinch as the round winds down. MMAFrenzy.com gives the second to Munoz again 10-9, putting him up 20-18, but both rounds could go either way.
Round 3 – Simpson grabs a kick and takes Munoz down again, but he reverses and unloads hard ground and pound. Simpson complains of an eye poke and gets to recover, but replays show it was a punch that caused the injury. Munoz looks to take control on the restart and batters Simpson with knees in the clinch. They’re restarted and Simpson nearly catches another kick, but Munoz gets Simpson to the clinch again instead. Action slows before Munoz exits with a solid combo. Simpson looks for a takedown, but Munoz shrugs it off. Simpson gets Munoz down again, but he’s quickly back up and they trade wild punches. Munoz finishes with a flurry of punches, but Simpson survives. Munoz takes another 10-9 on our card to go up 30-27 and should earn the nod.

MATT BROWN VS. BRIAN FOSTER
Round 1 – Matt Brown moving forward to start the bout, but Brian Foster avoids his early high kicks. Foster lunges in a takes Brown down into side control, but they’re quickly back on their feet. After an exchange, Brown gets to side control and looks to setup a choke, but Foster takes his back in a scramble. Brown gets Foster back under control, but he powers back to his feet and lands knees to the body before taking Brown down again. Brown takes Foster’s back and starts to slip, but locks on an armbar. Foster escapes to Brown’s guard, but eats elbows from the bottom and stands to finish the round. MMAFrenzy.com scores the close, back-and-forth round for Brown 10-9.
Round 2 – Brown catches Foster below the belt early in the second. Foster lands a spinning back kick to the body on the restart, but is in obvious pain and has to fight through it. Foster trips Brown to the canvas and eventually jumps into his guard and drops punches. Brown looks for a takedown in a scramble, but Foster grabs a guillotine and quickly forces Brown to tap.

JOE LAUZON VS. GEORGE SOTIROPOULOS
Round 1 – Lauzon and Sotiropoulos touch gloves and immediately start trading punches before settling in. Luzon moves forward with punches and Sotiropoulos looks for an early takedown, but it’s stuffed. Lauzon continues to win the early exchanges and drops big elbows in a clinch as he shrugs off another takedown. Sotiropoulos pulls guard as Lauzon moves in with punches. Lauzon stands, but Sotiropoulos grabs a takedown and takes his back before Lauzon works back to side control. Sotiropoulos gets mount, but Lauzon reverses as he goes for an armbar and finishes the round with ground and pound. MMAFrenzy.com gives the first to Lauzon 10-9.
Round 2 -Sotiropoulos quickly looks to take Lauzon down again, but Lauzon stays on his feet. Lauzon has slowed and Sotiropoulos takes advantage with punches and knees before getting on top on the ground in a scramble. Sotiropoulos misses with an armbar, but stays on top, grabs a kimura, and quickly forces Lauzon to tap.

PHIL DAVIS VS. TIM BOETSCH
Round 1 – Boetsch has his hands loaded and looks for an opening, but Davis avoids and lands strong kicks to the body and legs early. Boetsch grabs a kick, but Davis stays on his feet then grabs a takedown after an exchange. Boetsch avoids an arm triangle before Davis batters him with punches from half guard. Davis drops elbows from the top then pins Boetsch’s arm and unloads punches. Boetsch stands as Davis goes for mount, but then eats knees in the clinch as the round ends. MMAFrenzy.com gives a clear first to Davis 10-9.
Round 2 – Davis goes into the clinch early in the second and works for a takedown, but Boetsch stays on his feet. Davis softens Boetsch with some knees and finally gets him down, but has to escape a guillotine. Davis puts Boetsch in trouble after tying up his arm and finally forces him to tap to a kimura.

GERALD HARRIS VS. MAIQUEL FALCAO
Round 1 – After touching gloves, Falcao controls the center of the Octagon as Harris connects with his jab early. Falcao looks for an opening, but hasn’t pulled the trigger on anything yet. Harris remains elusive with a low stance and controls the little action with his jab. Falcao fires a kick. After another lull, Falcao explodes with a knee that sends Harris down and unloads punches on the ground. After more ground and pound, Falcao goes for a rear naked choke but Harris survives. Harris stands with Falcao on his back and slams him down, but he stays on. Falcao grabs the choke again, but Harris is saved by the end of the round. MMAFrenzy.com scores the first for Falcao 10-9.
Round 2 – Falcao tags Harris with a right hand early in the second then pounces with ground and pound. Falcao takes Harris back again and works for the rear naked choke. Harris eats some punches, but reverses and presses Falcao against the cage. They return to the center and Falcao stuffs a takedown, but Harris holds on to a leg before finally giving up on it. Harris shoots are absorbing a head kick, but Falcao sprawls and throws a few punches from the top. They stand just before the round ends. MMAFrenzy.com sees the round for Falcao 10-9 to go up 20-18.
Round 3 – In need of a finish, Harris opens the third with his hab while Falcao stalks for an opening. Harris feigns at a takedown, but stays on his feet as both struggle to pull the trigger on anything significant. Falcao lands a leg kick and Harris lunges with a combo that misses. Harris starts to pick up the pace as he closes in with punches, but struggles to find the mark. Falcao avoids another takedown and they return to the center. Harris avoids a head kick, then returns to the body. Falcao fires his biggest combo of the round after the bell. An uneventful third goes to Harris 10-9, but Falcao takes the fight 29-28.

BJ PENN VS. MATT HUGHES
Round 1 – After touching gloves, Penn connects with an early combo then catches a kick but lets it go. Penn drops Hughes with a punch and quickly finishes him off with a series of unanswered punches on the ground.

QUINTON “RAMPAGE” JACKSON VS. LYOTO MACHIDA
Round 1 – Rampage rushes forward and controls the center of Octagon as Machida opens the fight with a leg kick. Machida continues to attack the leg early as Rampage struggles to pull the trigger. Machida closes in and Jackson rushes forward with a flurry. Rampage has Machida backpedaling and connects with a punch before getting into the clinch and stomping Machida’s foot. Machida clips Machida with an uppercut as they separate and both fighters start to let their hands fly. Machida with another kick, then Rampage clinches again but Machida reverses as they trade knees. Rampage forces Machida into exchanges after they separate and lunges with another combo before the round ends. MMAFrenzy.com scores the round for “Rampage” 10-9.
Round 2 – Rampage moves forward again and puts Machida’s back to the cage, but Machida connects with more kicks to the body. Rampage rushes into the clinch and punches the body, but catches Machida below the belt with a knee. They circle in the center of the Octagon on the restart, but there’s little action before they clinch again. Rampage trips Machida to the ground and follows him down, but Machida powers back into the clinch and they separate. Machida avoids a punch and starts the clinch again and Rampage knees and punches the body. Rampage controls the center again, but can’t find the mark with his punches before Machida ties him up. Machida works for a takedown, but Rampage stays on his feet. They separate and a wild exchange ensues in the final seconds, but nothing significant connects. MMAFrenzy.com sees the round 10-10, leaving Rampage up 20-19.
Round 3 – Jackson and Machida trade leg kicks to open the final round, then Jackson clips Machida as he backs away. More leg kicks by Rampage, then he unloads a combo that misses. Machida hurts Rampage with a punch and unloads against the fence, but Rampage counters with a flurry of his own. Machida earns a takedown into half guard, but Jackson ties him up. Machida works Jackson’s arm as he looks for a kimura. Rampage rides it out as he seemingly waits for a standup, but Machida claims mount. Machida drops some punches then grabs an armbar, but Rampage powers back to his feet. Machida clinches again and drags Rampage back down, but Jackson ends the round on top. MMAFrenzy.com scores the third for Machida 10-9 to make the fight a 29-29 draw.
