After all the 'hype' we had to hear about how Speer was going to walk right over'Mac' because of Speer's (Matt Hughes) like; farmboy strength, which is no small item for sure look where it got Matt Hughes along with his incredible wrestling career! What would it have hurt for Dana to get into the mix and congratulate Danzig? None! Just in my opinion I think Dana wished for Tommy Speer to stomp a sandhole in Mac Danzigs butt!! The fight in my humble opinion did not stand out insofar as the Huerta/Guida fight. But the Speer/Danzig fight no matter how quick the submission came was the who and why this was a FREE MMA UFC fight night! Nuff said. Mac is making the right move by moving to lightweight. He is tiny for a welterweight, but it was the perfect test for him getting a contract with the UFC. I thought it was a little unfare having a seasoned vet vs. all those rookies, but he past the test with flying colors. Should be great, and I hope he does well, but if not, he will still have a shot at moving down to featherweight at the WEC I suppose.
