Kimbo Slice is still slated to try his hand at professional boxing, but the UFC veteran and former street fighter has delayed his debut until early next year to allow himself more time to train.
“I had him in California sparring and in real training. … He was given all the tools, but he continues to get offers from MMA and offers to be in movies and it’s hard to keep him focused on training camp,” promoter Gary Shaw told ESPN.com. “That’s the story more than anything else.”
Slice, 4-2 in MMA, hasn’t fought since being dropped by the UFC after a May loss to Matt Mitrione, which followed a lackluster decision over Houston Alexander in Slice’s Octagon debut last December after appearing on The Ultimate Fighter 10.
