Special Announcement To Be Made Tonight on The Ultimate Fighter 6 Finale
The UFC will be making a “special announcement” tonight on The Ultimate Fighter 6 Finale live on Spike according to UFC.com:
Watch the Ultimate Fighter Finale on Spike TV (9pm ET/PT) for a special announcement made by UFC President, Dana White.
Since the announcement will be made on this season’s finale it’s highly probable that the announcement pertains to the upcoming seventh season of the show which will debut in early-2008. The announcement could be the names of the coaches for the all-middleweight season (rumored coaches include Forrest Griffin and Quinton Jackson) or more on Dana White’s recent interview in which he revealed big changes for the seventh season of the show that has produced numerous UFC fighters including current welterweight champion Matt Serra.
MMAFrenzy.com will have extensive live coverage of tonight’s event beginning at 7pm ET.

There have been “big announcements” announced (sorry for the redundaincy) in the recent past, that were really not all that big. The “big” announcement of Wanderlei was let out of the bag MONTHS before the announcement was made. I would be willing to bet that it is the announcement of Sylvia/Nogueria. Sorry Dana, already knew about that.
yeah he might reveal the tuf7 coaches which would be kool
They should have a Canadian coach for the next show…like ST. Pierre. A good guy, and a dedicated sportsman with fantastic skills.
you downtowndj me and a freind was talking about that as well rampage and st.pierre would be good coaches 4 the season thats if he wins in ufc 79 but
Dana White needs to concider canadian content in the ulitimate fighter series, and I agree with you that George St Pierre would make a good coach for the next season.
St Pierre is a great fighter…I really believe pound for pound the best I have ever seen. He never gets the recognition he deserves…and he’s going to get the title..so look out huges and serra. Eltz….your right Rampage and Pierre would be great coaches
Hey guys- could use some help here. I think I am losing my mind. I just want to know when (or if they have already) Hughes and Serra are fighting. I have looked everywhere and I can’t get a confirmation.
Serra got hurt and St. Pierre is stepping in to fight Hughes at the end of the month. I agree that St. Pierre would make for a great coach, but I don’t think Jackson and St. Pierre can be the coach on the same season. I think Dana wants the coaches to be on the same weight class, to hype up a fight against each other. I don’t think I’ve seen competing coaches of different weight classes.
“I don’t think I’ve seen sompeting coaches of different weight classes.”
What about Franklin and Hughes in season 2? Dana definately doesn’t want to do that again though (he said so himself) I like my idea of Rashad and Forrest being coaches, and then fighting for a title shot.
scotchydow: Who would you go for Rashad or Forrest? Me personally I have to go for Forrest, that guy has a lot of heart and I think would deserve the title.
Amanda-
Forrest all the way! He is a machine compaired to Rashad. I am pretty sure Forrest could KO Evans by the 2nd round. Forrest is definately on the road to a match with Rampage, which I see as a brutalization. I think that that fight would get in Forrests head, and Rampage would stomp him. Maybe a title for Forrest later in his career though.
I’d go for Forrest as well.
I agree, I don’t think Forrest could hang with Rampage, although would be interesting to watch him try. Still , he deserves a title.
Dana confirmed Forrest Griffin is one of the coaches for TUF 7….other to be announced on VGA tommorow night. Maybe Rashad Evans? Rampage?
When Dana announced Forrest as coach for TUF 7, he also stated he was the #1 contender and that the coaches would fight. It’s pretty much a no-brainer that Jackson will be the other coach. I like it and think with Forrest submitting Rua he’s deserving of a title shot. Should Jackson defeat Forrest and Wanderlei take care of Liddell, it’ll set up a rematch and allow Jackson the opportunity to redeem himself.
Yea i think it’s rampage as well.. I saw a commercial for the Video Game Awards that had griffin and jackson standing side by side.
There is no way that Rampage won’t take Forrest Griffin seriously. We will see both guys at their very best when it is time for them to fight each other. I just wonder when in 2008 will this fight take place?
Did anyone watch the Video Game Awards to see if they announced Rampage as the other coach? Wait, what am I saying… no ones watches the video game awards.
