Vemola should have also earned an “irony” bonus for silverback’ing The Silverback…
;-)
ya he was a beast, i felt sorry for seth, they looked like they should have been in defferent weight classes
Vemola’s last fight was at heavyweight against Madson at UFC 116, don’t forget.
Vemola is my boy if been waiting for him to drop down to 205 well done! i predicted this cant wait to see who he fights next!
I’m hoping He fights Krzystof Soszynski next…
Did you guys not see how raw he is? If he fights a dude with good jiu jitsu he’s done. Also, his stand up looked awful. He has potential because of his wrestling and size but seriously needs to learn some technique.
sheer power and good wrestling ability combine with a seemlingly solid head works for lesnar… why cant it work for vemola… with the power he has it will be difficult for an JJ fighter to hold him down and get the good position before the submission…
his stand was bad, but he just bullrushed through the punches and took down his opponent thus removing his opponents stand up ability…
yes vemola needs more refinement, but not much…
Agreed.
Just like Bjj was the antidote to berserker attacks in the sport’s first decade, it seems like superior strength, the ability to take a reasonable punch, and a well-developed wrestling ability will level the playing field in the sport’s second decade…
however he got controlled by another wrestler… I’ve heard 205 has some decent wrestlers…
Vermola is scary but if you were to equal his raw tenacity and bullrushing cpapbility with a more level headed calm and collected fighter that is still strong like a rashad, a griffin or a rampage then I got a feeling when put in deep water and carrying all that muscle Vermola will wilt. I can see his cardio being the achilies heel.
