The Ultimate Fighter 13 Hopefuls Include Strikeforce Vets Galvao, Amoussou

Open tryouts for The Ultimate Fighter 13 were held yesterday in Las Vegas, drawing nearly 300 welterweight and middleweight hopefuls for the latest installment of the long-running UFC series, including former Strikeforce fighters Andre Galvao and Karl Amoussou, according to MMAjunkie.

A Brazilian jiu-jitsu champion, the DREAM veteran Galvao (5-2) suffered a first-round TKO to rising prospect Tyron Woodley last month to fall to 2-1 in Strikeforce, while Amoussou (11-3-2) faced Trevor Prangley in his lone Strikeforce bout, which ended in a draw after an eye poke, before most-recently dropping a decision to Kazuhiro Nakamura in DREAM in July.

Other notable middleweights reportedly included Zak Cummings, Ariel Gandulla, Frank Lester, Robert “Bubba” McDaniel, Jeremiah Riggs, and Louis Taylor, while welterweights included Shamar Bailey, Muhsin Corbbrey, James Krause, Tyler Stinson, and Dave Terrell.
