The Ultimate Fighter 8 lightweight winner Efrain Escudero has found a new home after surprisingly being let go by the UFC in September, signing a multi-fight deal with Shine Fights that was announced on Wednesday.
“Going to Shine is the first step to becoming a world champion. As far as my career goes, things happen, and I don’t live in the past,” Escudero said in a press release. “I’m excited to get this show in the road.”
After topping Phillipe Nover in 2008 to win TUF 8, Escudero (13-2) earned wins over Cole Miller and Dan Lauzon while losing to Evan Dunham before being cut after suffering a third-round submission to Charles Oliveira in September that also saw him miss weight.
