The winner of Strikeforce’s Dec. 4 main event rematch between Dan Henderson and Renato “Babalu” Sobral is expected to earn the first title shot at recently crowned light heavyweight champ Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante.
“Right now my feeling is Dan Henderson fights Babalu, the winner should be fighting Rafael Feijao,” Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker told MMA Weekly. “To me I think the winner will probably be granted a title shot.”
Henderson (25-8) dropped his Strikeforce debut to middleweight champ Jake Shields in April following three-straight UFC wins, while Sobral (36-8) rebounded after losing the title to Gegard Mousasi by beating Robbie Lawler in June.
Feijao (10-2) won the title with a third-round TKO of Mo Lawal in August for his third-straight win.
