UFC President Dana WhiteWorld Extreme Cagefighting will merge with its sister promotion the Ultimate Fighting Championship in January, UFC President Dana White announced on Thursday.

Following WEC 52 on Nov. 11 and WEC 53 on Dec. 16, the WEC’s featherweight (145-pound) and bantamweight (135-pound) divisions will be added to the UFC, while its 155-pound roster will join the UFC’s established lightweight division.
