The UFC is planning a January 22 event that will include a lightweight matchup between Melvin Guillard and Yves Edwards and a welterweight fight between Charlie Brenneman and Amilcar Alves, according to MMAjunkie.
No other details are known about the event, which will likely be UFC Fight Night 23 or UFC on Versus 3

I am still waiting for the UFC to sign Amilcar’s sons Annibal and Asdrubal to development deals. Annibal would cross mountains for the opportunity and Asdrubal is huge is Spain and Tunisia.
I like Melvin Guillard a lot, this guy is always looking to fight, and Yves Edwards will be a nice test, this fight could have fight of the night all over it.

I would like to see Yves win this one. I like both fighters, but I have been watching Yves for a LONG time now and would love to see him get back towards the top of the lightweight division. I remember when Yves was thought to be the best lightweight in the division at the time, and was basically the un-crowned champion. The fight with him and Josh Thomson was sick. Untill Yves ended it with a hight kick.
I do like Melvin also, but I personally thought he lost his last fight with Stephens. They both did’nt perform like they could have in that one.(and that’s them sayind that not me)

Edwards has a lot of miles on em I mean he did dominate gunderson but the 2 fights prior to that were closely contested against a couple of journeyman. I thought they would have gave melvin a contender or someone close 2 being a contender. But never the less I like the fight guillard should win, but it would beautiful if yves actually won I was hella mad when kj noons tko’d him in exc I thought for dam sure he would win that fight. Thugjitsu!!!
