Joe Stevenson vs. Mac Danzig Expected for UFC 124 on Dec. 11

Joe StevensonLightweights Joe Stevenson and Mac Danzig will look to bounce back from losses in their most-recent outings when The Ultimate Fighter winners are expected to square off at UFC 124 on Dec. 11 in Montreal.

Stevenson announced his addition to the card earlier today and MMA Mania first reported Danzig as his opponent.

Stevenson (31-11) finished 2009 with wins over Nate Diaz and Spencer Fisher, but hasn’t fought since falling to rising contender George Sotiropoulos in February.

Danzig (19-8-1) avoided a likely UFC release by halting a three-fight skid with a win over Justin Buchholz in February before suffering a controversial submission loss to Matt Wiman in June.

Injuries forced both fighters out of scheduled returns earlier this year, as Stevenson suffered a knee injury in June, while Danzig was sidelined by a chest injury in August.

The UFC 124 fight card is headlined by welterweight champ Georges St-Pierre vs. rival TUF 12 coach Josh Koscheck.
