With former bantamweight champ Brian Bowles sidelined by a broken foot, recent title challenger Joseph Benavidez will look to get back on track when he steps in against Wagnney Fabiano at WEC 52 on Nov. 11 in Las Vegas, according to Sherdog.
Joining teammates Urijah Faber and Chad Mendes on the Versus-televised main card, Benavidez (12-2) won four of his first five WEC fights before falling to Cruz for the second time in August, while Fabiano (14-2) is coming off wins over Clint Godfrey and Frank Gomez.
The WEC 52 fight card is headlined by former featherweight champ Urijah Faber’s bantamweight debut vs. Takeya Mizugaki.

This is going to be one helluva good fight. Benavidez needs to control the ground game and watch out for Fabiano’s sick BJJ. Very much looking forward to this fight.
In terms of pure in-cage action and cost to the fanbase, a VERY strong argument can be made IMO that the WEC is in fact the sport’s number 2 org, and not Strikeforce…
I agree, I have never finished watching a WEC event thinking that it was a letdown.
100% agree
I’ve even heard some say for in ring action the argument can be made that WEC is the #1 org. Like will said, I’ve never thought after watching a wec event “I’ll never get those hours back”. The same cannot be said of a ufc event.
I’ve missed UFC events because of lack of interest *cough*119*cough*, but I flat out will not miss a WEC event for anything.
Damm great replacement!!!!
Absolutely, but Fabiano isn’t exactly the easiest opponent to get “back on track” against…
Your right but an agument can be made that Bowles would have been a better match up for Fabiano as well. We’re going to find out, should be great fight.
Yeah great replacement, gonna be another great night of fights.
