Luiz Artur Banha Debuts at UFC 79
Another name has been added to the already stacked UFC light heavyweight division as Brazilian Luiz Artur Banha will make his UFC debut on December 29th against James Irvin. Banha’s management team B-TOUGH confirmed with Tatame today that Banha will make his first appearance in the octagon at UFC 79. Banha presently trains with the Gibi Thai Team and holds a fight record of 7-0-0 with one no contest. In his career, Banha has had six victories by knockout and one win by submission.
Meanwhile, James Irvin (12-4-0) is coming off a TKO loss to the very dangerous Thiago Silva back at UFC 71. Irvin suffered an injury in the first round when his knee popped out of its socket forcing the bout to come to a halt. UFC 79: Nemesis takes place on December 29th at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

the ufc must be really having a problem producing fighters these days
to be fair they have pulled in a few big names recently like lesnar and sokodjou
I thought we’d seen the last of Irvin, oh well, I’m sure this will be on the undercard. Haven’t heard of Banha but more Brazilians is more gooder as far as I’m concerned.

I like James Irvin; the guy is a decent fighter and comes to bang all the time.
