Brazilian light heavyweight Alexandre “Cacareco” Ferreira has signed a multi-fight deal with the UFC and will debut in place of an injured Jason Brilz against veteran Vladimir Matyushenko at UFC 122 on Nov. 13 in Oberhausen, Germany, according to MMAjunkie.
Ferreira (18-6) has scored seven-straight submission wins heading into his UFC debut, but hasn’t fought in more than a year, while Matyushenko looks to bounce back from an August loss to rising prospect Jon Jones, which snapped a three-fight win streak.
Brilz recently suffered a back injury and a timeline for his return hasn’t been set.
The UFC 122 fight card, which airs on Spike TV, is headlined by middleweight contenders Nate Marquardt vs. Yushin Okami.
