    That was a long one…

Man that seems kinda harsh to me. Just cause a guy gets comfortabl with his sucsess(Escudero) and has a bad performance ONE time, you cut him? I get trying to bring him back down to earth and let him know that he should’nt be doing those things, but man…cut him? Pull him aside and talk to him. He’s obviously young and new to the big money and bright lights.
And how is Duffee supose to act? He just lost a fight. His first fight I belive, and a fight he was dominating. And not to mention the lose was by KO. How are you supose to act in that kind of situation? Who knows, maybe he was being totally disrespectful or something? It had to be pretty bad for them to cut him like that though.

And just by the way Dana was talking, I think Chael has a decent chance of having a sucsessful apeal. I’m guessing it has to do with the flu meds. I guess we will see how it plays out in the next few months.

@TQR keep in mind Dana also said he’s staying out of it, so he doesn’t know the full story either, he said the same thing about Sherk. The truth is that Chael is guilty of not fully and properly documenting what he took and not recieving permission from CSAC. I think from what I hear he could get it reduced to six months but there will be no reppeal.

Also, Duffee was acting pretty poorly before the Russow fight as well.

Escudero also had repeated fouls in the D. Lauzon fight, and was submitted the fight before that. Yet, he still did all sorts of promotional stuff. To Dana that showed a lack of focus. A lot of guys have been cut going 1-2. I don’t really agree with it but Dana’s done it before.

im pretty sure efrain was 2-2, maybe even 3-2 if you count his win over Nover. He beat Lauzon, Miller, and Nover. Sometimes Dana just cracks down. seems random, but the UFC doesnt really need efrain. I hope he gets focused and fights soon, cuz he looked damn good in the miller fight. looked good at the beginning of the dunham fight too.

Chris was saying that he was 1-2 in his last 3, I think.

        @dbiz you’re correct sir

On the matter of Dana White “cracking down” on problem children:
Keep in mind as the stakes and the crowds grow larger, the take gets fatter, the mainstream media gets more attentive, and the in-cage skill level goes thru the roof, maybe El Hefe feels that the UFC maturity and professionalsim curve needs to be as sharp as the UFC Octagonal learning curve.
Or maybe DW has so much more sh!t going on these days that he doesn’t have the time or inclination to deal with guys that can’t roll right.
Maybe a decade ago the sport and the org could deal with bad attitudes, but nowadays we should be past all of that.
DW has laid out some pretty simple rules in interviews over the years, such as make weight, fight your a$$ off, win if you can but always entertain, be cool to the fans at all times, think of the org, and don’t otherwise be a d!ck.

Now we don’t have anything cement on why guys like Duffee and Escudero were sent packing, but if you cross-reference them with the above list, you can sort of read between the lines.
Both Duffee and Escudero fought hard and won when they could, so they had that bit covered.
Escudero had weight issues and Duffee put some pretty stupid sh!t out in the Twitterverse when he was drinking and texting or something, so that bit they screwed the pooch on.
Rumor-mongering isn’t cool, but sometimes it can be useful when reading between the lines.
There is a lot of noise out there that both of these guys didn’t handle themselves the way they should either with fans or the front office, or both.
IMO its not “harsh” to send them down to the small show circuit, because if you’re going to fight in the big show your a$$ had best be ready for not just the best MMA fighters in the world, but the subsequent “bright lights” and “big money” that goes hand in hand with facing them…
