Mirko Cro Cop Cleared for Saturday’s UFC 119 Main Event vs. Frank Mir

Mirko Cro Cop FilipovicMirko Cro Cop has been officially cleared to fight in the main event of Saturday’s UFC 119 in Indianapolis against former heavyweight champ Frank Mir, the UFC has announced.

The Croatian striker was poked in the eye during the last round of his final sparring session, prompting rumors that he could be forced to pull out of the matchup, but the injury was downplayed by UFC President Dana White and the PRIDE veteran is now set for UFC 119 after being OK’d by an ophthalmologist.

The UFC 119 fight card also includes Antonio Rogerio Nogueira vs. Ryan Bader, Chris Lytle vs. Matt Serra, Sean Sherk vs. Evan Dunham, and Melvin Guillard vs. Jeremy Stephens.
