UFC 81 “Breaking Point” Tickets On Sale Beginning December 5th
Tickets for UFC 81 “Breaking Point” will go on sale beginning December 5th. The event, which was officially added to the UFC’s upcoming event schedule earlier today, includes the debut of former professional wrestler Brock Lesnar against former UFC champion Frank Mir. The rumored card also includes Tyson Griffin vs. Gleison Tibau, Thales Leites vs. Nate Marquardt, and Alan Belcher vs. Ricardo Almeida.
Earlier this week we learned that the event was moved to the larger MGM Grand Garden Arena meaning a major announcement regarding UFC 81 could come soon.
As always UFC Fight Club members will be the first to have a chance to buy tickets beginning on Wednesday December 5th at 1pm ET. On Friday December 7th the Newsletter Presale will begin at 1pm ET. Finally, tickets will go on sale to the general public on Sunday December 9th beginning at 1pm ET.
UFC 81 “Breaking Point” will air live on PPV February 2nd beginning at 10pm ET.

I wonder if I am the only one cheering for Mir? It would be nice to see him catch Lesnar in an armbar (even if it gives him a metal bar to beat people with like Sylvia does) I am also looking forward to seeing the Belcher/Almeida and Leites/Marquart fights. It is really a “stacked” card.
I think there are fans that want to see Mir win scotchydow. I would assume that MMA fans don’t want a WWE star to come in and beat a known and established MMA fighter like Mir. It is a very interesting fight.
I want Lesnar to win, but I think Mir will off the victory with a submission in the first round.
I’d like to see Mir win. I think I would like to see anexciting fight first and foremost though. Too many of the HWs are not exciting to watch. Give me an exciting fight and I’ll be happy.
gray maynard is the real deal. this guy has great wrestling, great ground n pound, good standup, and is getting improving his jj for his sub defence.
corey hill is very tall and is getting taught by one of the best mma teachers in the world. i don’t believe the hype.
and is improving his jj for sub defence.
#4 and #5 belong on the maynard, hill article. here’s the proper way to spell ‘defense’
sorry fellas.
MGM or Mandalay??? UFC site says Mandalay but here it says moved to MGM. George Strait is booked at MGM that night???
Jason, the NSAC website says Grand Garden Arena which is the info I was going on but UFC.com still says Mandalay. At this point it might be a waiting game to see what they can book to determine the ticket sales they expect.
I don’t know who to cheer for. The UFC fan in me wants to see Lesnar win just to see where it takes him while the MMA fan in me wants Mir to win and have not only a rematch w/Sylvia but the title unification fight we never got (Mir vs Arlovski).
Will the Lesnar novelty evaporate immediately if Mir subs him in the 1st? Will he still increase PPV buys if he has to scale back and face lesser TUF heavyweights, building up to a match with a Wes Sims or, if things are going well, a Paul Buenetello, so that maybe, just maybe, down the road he can be ready for his big showdown with Kimbo Slice?
Vampslayer, I would love to see those matches you mentioned. We are a long way from those fights unfortunately. Hopefully Arlovski signs a UFC contract extension and we are hopefully blessed to see an Arlovski/Mir showdown.
hahahaha…i hate to be the first one to point this out but isnt ufc 80- rapid fire??? im sure its jus a typo though
