UFC Fight Night 12: Gray Maynard vs. Matt Grice, Corey Hill vs. Joe Veres
The January 23rd UFC Fight Night 12 card appears unofficially complete as MMA Junkie is reporting that The Ultimate Fighter 5 castmembers Corey Hill and Gray Maynard will both be fighting at the event.
Hill (1-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) will make his official UFC debut against Joe Veres (4-2 MMA, 0-1 UFC). Despite competing on The Ultmate Fighter 5 Hill has just one fight on his professional record – a 34-second TKO victory in November on ‘06. Veres lost his UFC debut to Maynard at UFC Fight Night 11 in September by KO just 9-seconds into the fight
Maynard (3-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) will look to keep his undefeated 3-0 record intact as he takes on Matt Grice (9-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC). Maynard fought to a no contest in his UFC debut against Rob Emerson on The Ultimate Fighter 5 Finale. Despite dominating the fight and slamming Emerson so hard he was forced to tap out Maynard knocked himself out on the slam and the fight was ruled a no contest. Despite the odd finish to his UFC debut Maynard quickly dispatched Vera in September. Grice made his UFC debut in April losing to Terry Etim by submission late in round one. He bounced back from the loss with a decision win over Jason Black at UFC 77 in October.

corry hill is gonna tower over other 155 pounders..cant wait to see how well his training went
I am so looking forward to Corey Hill’s Octagon Debut. I hope he puts on a great show. I doubt he’ll top Maynard’s quick KO of Veres, but hopefully Hill can finish the fight in the first round.
It will be great to see both Grey and Cory. I too am very interested to see how Hill’s trainning with Jeremy Horn went. Couldn’t ask for a better guy to “role” with.
Grey and Cory both have tremendous upside. I expect to see Hill to still be raw, but with a gameplan to utilize his strengths. Maynard should be too much for Grice and I’d expect him to win early.
Maynard > Grice 1st Rnd
Hill > Veres 2nd Rnd
Matt Grice will beat grey maynard… i dont know about the 2nd
155-pound beanstalk, Corey Hill, will go down sooner than later for his own safety. Veres brings both power and striking into the ring, and that is what is going to be Hill’s downfall.
