Rising middleweight Gerald Harris will welcome heavy-handed Chute Boxe product Maiquel Falcao to the UFC when the pair are expected to clash at “UFC 123: Rampage vs. Machida” on Nov. 20 in Detroit.
The matchup was first confirmed by Tatame on Monday, with Falcao reportedly signing a four-fight UFC deal.
Harris (17-3) has reeled off three-straight wins over John Salter, Mario Miranda, and Dave Branch since The Ultimate Fighter 7 castmember was invited back to the UFC earlier this year. Harris was tapped as a late-replacement for last month’s UFC 118, but his bout was ultimately scrapped from the card.
Falcao (25-3) has fought almost exclusively in his native Brazil and rides a seven-fight win streak with all first-round stoppages into his UFC debut.
The UFC 123 fight card is headlined by former light heavyweight champs Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Lyoto Machida and also includes BJ Penn vs. Matt Hughes and Joe Lauzon vs. George Sotiropoulos.

If Harris can get past Falcao, i’d love to see him face some stiffer competition.
This surprises me…
I would of thought that Harris would of got a bigger name in the eyes of the casual fan. Done get me wrong Maiquel has done very very well outside of the UFC and I believe he has the ability to go very far in the UFC, but for now, Harris does not have much to gain in the eyes of the casual fan.
I will be rooting for Harris, and as Lex said, if he wins I hope to see him get a good jump in competition.
Harris needs to request that he not be the official 185 welcomer for new talent.
Dbiz, as he frequently does, hit the nail on the head.
Harris might not be the most electrifying fighter in the UFC, but 185 doormat duties seem unfair.
This guy has a lot of potential, and deserves a higher level of competition with which to prove himself.
Maybe we’re all sleeping in Falcao, but winning 3 straight in the UFC should get you a bit more than an unproven [in the Octagon] fighter…
Falcao is a pretty good fighter. He kind of reminds me of Hector Lombard the way he throws bombs. From what I’ve seen of him, he doesn’t really seem like a good sportsman so I’ll be rooting for Harris.
Well I thought it made no sense at UFC 118 when they chose Mario Miranda to fight Demian Maia
Harris defeated Miranda in an impressive way and Miranda got to face Maia
made no sense
Miranda should of got Sakara and Harris should have got Maia
and now Harris gets a no-namer (to the casual fan)
makes no sense man, makes no sense
but I guess that’s why Im not Joe Silva
