UFC Fight Night 12: Matt Wiman vs. Justin Buchholz
Ultimate Fighter 5 castmember and 3-fight UFC veteran Matt Wiman will take on UFC newcomer Justin Buchholz at UFC Fight Night 12 in January according to MMA Weekly.
Wiman (8-3 MMA, 2-1 UFC) defeated Marlon Sims in the opening round of the reality series before losing to Manny Gamburyan in the quarterfinals. Following the appearance on the show Wiman has gone 2-0 in the UFC with victories over Brian Geraghty on the finale of the season and Michihiro Omigawa at UFC Fight Night 11.
Buchholz (7-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) started his career in the Alaska fighting Championship promotion where he went 3-1. He then moved on to earn wins in Rumble on the Rock, Icon Sport, and, most recently, in EliteXC.

Anybody know anything more on Buchholz? It sure seems the UFC is pushing to build Whiman a name. They love their TUF boyz (could be a “boy band”, Chris Leban could be the bad boy, Whiman the pretty boy, Bonner the tough but shy guy……lol) It just seems they get a little extra in ways of lieniency twords loses. Actually Whiman won his last one I think, I just wasn’t that impressed with what I have seen from him. Guess I just don’t like him, I dunno.
I’m with you scotchydow; I have no idea who this Buchholz guy is. Wiman is a decent fighter and if I had to pick I would pick Wiman to win even though it doesn’t really matter to me who wins this fight.

Matt doesn’t need to really worry about anybody – however, it would be nice to know who this Buchholz guy is.
I think everyone is really underestimating Buchholz. Check out his fights. Matt might have to worry more than he thinks.
