Houston Alexander didn't even fight. He looked like he was *too* worried about getting taken down, to the point where he didn't even throw his hands. It was strange, compared to the flurries he came out with in his two previous fights.

Houston will continue to do well against those who stand with him and will always be a question going against good ground game guys, much like Kongo.

The card was better than I thought. I was hoping Alexander would have won, but I think if he spends a little less time on his body and a little more time on his ground game; he will come back better than ever.

I agree,Silva would ass woop either, but I did say title SHOT.
Both have under impressed at light heavy and any of the other title contenders would seriously beat down on Evans or Bisping. There are probably less contenders at 185.

hahahhahahahaha, that's a really good one! Either of those two, against Anderson Silva? hahaha, oh man... I don't think Anderson Silva will be going anywhere anytime soon, no matter who they put in front of him.

It was more like "Sedation" than "Validation".
Worst UFC in recent months. Both Evans and Bisping are going to have to drop to 185lb if they want a title shot.

Sounds like they left the fight of the night off air!?!?!?! Lytle/Alves sounds like it was up in the air 'til the doc stopped the fight cause Lytle was cut. I am glad he put up a good fight (and got a 55k bonus for it) even if he lost. I hope he can rack up some wins, cause he is a tuff MO-FO.

Edgar vs Fisher I gave a 2 out of 5 stars. Edgar completely dominated and put on a true wrestling clinic. Fisher didn't have an answer the entire fight. Once Fisher tired, Edgar kept slipping out of full guard and constantly attacked (I don't know how Rogan could keep saying those punches weren't doing much damage - quantity over quality did a nice number on Fisher's face).

Herman vs Doerksen I gave a 3 out of 5. I'm not a fan of Ed at all but I was very impressed with his showing except for the mistake at the end of round 2 when he missed a punch and not only fell into a deep triangle, but an armbar as well. The punching in the 3rd round was very sloppy and Ed landed a decent left hook to end it.

Chonan vs Parisyan was the most disappointing fight of the night. I thought it would be much better and only gave it a 1 out of 5. Karo clearly won each round, mostly by clinching and attempting some Judo throws. He had some decent early flurries while in Ryo's guard and then some decent punches at the end, but nothing to show he's ready for a title shot. I'd like to see him fight Koscheck or Fitch to determine who's going to be a true contender once the Serra/Hughes/GSP saga runs its course in 2008.

Alexander vs T. Silva I gave 3 out of 5. I was anxious to see what Houston would do on his back, and now I know. Nothing. Why he went for the clinch out the gate I'll never understand. Thiago should be on everyone's radar for 2008, he's about to have a nice run. I thought the ref ended the fight prematurely until I saw the replay and agreed with the announce crew that he did in fact make the right call. Plus, if he hadn't stepped in, it's not like Houston was going to escape before becoming totally unconscious.

Bisping vs Evans I gave a 3 out of 5. Evans clearly won the 1st round in my opinion and I thought Michael did enough to win the 2nd. The 3rd was pretty close, but the "ring control" is what put Rashad over in my eyes with the take-downs. I was impressed with Bisping's take down defense however. When he walked to the ring and Rogan or Goldy mentioned that he chose to stay in England to train, I made my final decision that Evans would win. He had arguably one of the world's premier camps to train at and he figured he didn't need them. Big mistake and it cost him the fight (I did predict on another link Evans by split decision :^) ).

Prelim fight between Lauzon and Reinhardt. I gave this a 3 out of 5 simply because I was thoroughly impressed with Joe's performance. In under 2 minutes, he made this 18-0 jackass look like the TUF fighters that Hughes toys with in training this season. Joe didn't break a sweat and I don't think he even took a punch. He could be cleared to fight next week he came out so clean. I have him absolutely as a top 5 in the UFC's 155 division. It just sucks for him that his coach will soon become co-champion and may delay him getting a title shot (I'd put Lauzon ahead of Stevenson at this point).

Not a very good card, so I wasn't that disappointed. I know I may get crap for this, but I think both Bisping and Evans were both very overrated, and I think it showed in the fight. Thiago Silva was not that big of a surprise once the fight went to the ground. I was very impressed by Frank Edgar. He dominated Spencer Fisher who is one of the better Lightweights. Parisyan - Chonan was very disappointing since both usually are in wars. Overall, not a good PPV. UFC should make up for it at Nemesis. Looks like one of their best cards ever.
