With season two tournament winner Pat Curran sidelined by an undisclosed injury, UFC veteran and tourney semifinalist Roger Huerta will fight lightweight champ Eddie Alvarez in a non-title main event at Bellator 33 on October 21 in Philadelphia, according to MMAjunkie.
Huerta (21-4-1) won his Bellator debut over Chad Hinton in April, but was upset by Curran in May for his third loss in four fights. The former UFC star recently made headlines for winning a street fight over a former Texas Longhorns football player who sucker-punched a woman.
Alvarez (20-2) was crowned Bellator’s first-ever lightweight champ with a win over Toby Imada last June and most-recently earned a non-title win over UFC veteran Josh Neer in May.
