Fedor Emelianenko Expects to Sign 4-6 Fight Extension with Strikeforce, Not Interested in UFC

Fedor EmelianenkoFormer top-ranked heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko expects to sign a 4-6 fight extension with Strikeforce after suffering a 69-second submission to Fabricio Werdum in June for his first loss in nearly 10 years:

“For now (we) M-1Global works with Strikeforce and we are concentrating on that, the contract is not over yet. So for now we don’t have any interest in the UFC,” Emelianenko said Thursday at  press conference for Saturday’s  M-1 Selection: Americas event in New Jersey. “So far I feel very comfortable fighting, very good with my fighting, and I’m planning on fighting as long as I can physically. As far and I’m concerned we should discuss the possibility of signing another contract for 4-6 fights.”
