Mike Brown Returns Against Cole Province at WEC 51 in September

Mike BrownFormer WEC featherweight champ Mike Brown will look to rebound after dropping 2 of his last 3 when he returns to action against Cole Province at the Versus-televised “WEC 51: Aldo vs. Gamburyan” event on September 30 in Broomfield, Colorado, MMAjunkie reports.

Brown (23-6) won the 145-pound title from Urijah Faber in 2008 and defended it twice before having his ten-fight win streak snapped with a November loss to Jose Aldo. After bouncing back with a first-round submission of Anthony Morrison in January, Brown suffered a first-round KO to Manny Gamburyan in April.

Province (6-1) has a split decision win over Diego Nunes last August erased after failing a post-fight drug test, but returns after scoring a 54-second submission outside the promotion in June.

The WEC 51 fight card is headlined by featherweight champ Jose Aldo vs. Manny Gamburyan and also includes Jamie Varner and Donald Cerrone, Miguel Torres vs. Charlie Valencia, Mark Hominick vs. Leonard Garcia, and Chan Sung Jung vs. George Roop.
