UFC Middleweight Aaron Simpson Hospitalized with Staph Infection

Aaron SimpsonUFC middleweight Aaron Simpson will be sidelined at least six weeks after undergoing surgery for a staph infection in his elbow, knocking him out of a September bout against Dave Branch at UFC Fight Night 22, MMADiehards reports.

An NCAA All-American wrestler, Simpson (7-1) started his career with seven-straight wins, including UFC victories over Tim McKenzie, Ed Herman, and Tom Lawlor, but suffered a second-round TKO to Chris Leben at The Ultimate Fighter 11 Finale in June.
