UFC 79: Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou vs. Lyoto Machida
Today the UFC officially announced the signing of “The African Assassin” Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou as well as his UFC debut bout against Lyoto Machida at UFC 79 in December.
Sokoudjou currently has a professional mixed martial arts record of 4-1-0. Following a first-round TKO loss at WEC 24 in late-2006 Sokoudjou rebounded to take the MMA world by storm by topping favorites Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and Ricardo Arona. The two KO wins took little more than-two minutes combined.
He will face a tough test in his UFC debut against the undefeated, 11-0 Machida. Since debuting at UFC 67 in February Machida has earned three straight victories in the octagon over Sam Hoger, David Heath, and Kazuhiro Nakamura. Prior to coming to the UFC Machida also earned victories over UFC veterans BJ Penn, Rich Franklin, and Stephan Bonnar.

I gotta go with Machida on this one. Sokoudjou is the real deal, but I think Machida has a certain style that frustrates fighters and Machida always executes his game plane. Machida by unanimous decision.
Hell of a fight, I would actually go with Machida as well. Such a technical striker, he’d be tough to catch with a big blow. Soukodjou is still not exactly the most proven fighter in my eyes. I could see Machida just picking him apart and frustrating the hell out of him.
no way machida will get his first lost in his career machida is such a boring fighter
What a great fight, what a great card. I think the African Assassin takes this one.
I’m a fan of Machida but I’m afraid hid winning streak will end in December
