Urijah Faber vs. Takeya Mizugaki Targeted for WEC 52 on November 7 in Sacramento
The bantamweight debut of former featherweight champ Urijah Faber against Takeya Mizugaki, originally scheduled for WEC 50 on August 18, is now likely to take place at WEC 52 on November 7 in Faber’s hometown of Sacramento, California, according to MMARising.
Faber (23-4), who was forced to withdraw from WEC 50 after suffering a knee injury earlier this month, has lost 3 of his last 5 fights since holding the 145-pound title for nearly two years, most-recently dropping a unanimous decision to featherweight champ Jose Aldo in April.
Mizugaki (13-4-2) came up short in an exciting “Fight of the Night” with bantamweight champ Miguel Torres in his WEC debut in April 2009, but has since won 2 of 3, including a unanimous decision over Rani Yahya at WEC 48.

He faked the injury just so he could fight again in front of his hometown… Now that bs was taken out of the way.
I like the fact that Mizugaki is waiting to welcome Faber to the 135 pound division, should be a hell of a fight.
And probably another FoTN…
i would wait for him also. not many chances to beat a name like that. i just hope that they dont give us a bum card. alot of their stars are fighting before. and wec knows they will do good on ticket sales with faber in sac-town.
He can’t make the weight. If he does make weight, he’ll come out hell a stormin. Mizugaki has shown his chin and his heart. Faber is a huge 145lbr, the weight cut will kill him.
